Hunting (Open)

Cinder trots gracefully in the grassy area. She closes her eyes and lets the air touch her body. She smells the river and begins to open her eyes. She leaps on the rocks and quickly reaches the other side of the river. The black female's legs take her to a line of large bushes. Something tasty comes to her nose. Cinder stops at her tracks and her eyes focus on a large animal. It is an elk. She concentrates on the movement of it and quietly and slowly, she stalks it.

Kevin found himself bored out of his mind, nothing really seemed to be happening around him. He yawned, before shaking his large and thick red, black, and white coat. His multi-colored eyes caught a movement from the corner of his eye, he quickly turned around and lowered himself, he had always loved hunting and considered joining it's ranks. However in a pack like this it was best if he was a fighter, his ears flattened themselves as he watched the elk graze, then an idea popped into his head. There must have been a fawn around if she was alone, quickly he sniffed around in the cover of the bushes. After a while he gave up and returned to watch the elk, he then crouched getting ready to spring out of cover and attack the elk before he noticed Cinder on the other side of the elk, the female blended into the shadows quite easily, now he remembered why he wasn't a hunter. His unusual fur had almost always been spotted by his prey before he could even get this close. He sighed then waited once she attacked he could help her.

Cinder stalked closer to the elk when it came closer to her. Her fur was blended with her surroundings so it was hard to spot her. After minutes of waiting, Cinder charged towards the elk with speed and power. The elk tried to run away, but Cinder was already at its tail. After minutes of chase, the black she-wolf got a grip of the elk's throat. She held it down with her strength.

Kevin watched as Cinder pulled down the elk. It surprised him not many males could even do that, quickly he dashed from the bushes and helped hold down the elk, as his canines dug deeply into the elk's shoulder, he began to shake his head digging his fangs deeper and ripping the elk's muscle. He then took out a chunk of the elk's shoulder before going to it's neck and trying to rip it's jugular vein. The whole process was difficult though, since the elk was moving around so much.

Cinder saw when Kevin helped attack the elk. Her attention went back on the elk after watching him. She quickly jumped with its throat tight in her jaws and did a back flip making the elk's throat twist. When she landed on her two hind legs, she heard a crack and a snap coming for the elk's neck. The elk fell down and quickly died.

Kevin quickly let go of the elk's neck when he saw Cinder about to back flip. He stepped back and rested his rump onto the soft dirt below, he blinked his multi-colored eyes in surprise as the elk fell the ground. The reason he had bit it's shoulder was in-case it escaped it wouldn't be able to run as fast and would be an easier take down. A glint of respect filled his gaze for a moment before he stood up and took a step toward Cinder. "Nice job." He praised her with a slight small on his maw, he had never seen a wolf hunt or kill like that before and it did surprise him. "Should we tell Siphon or the rest of the pack?" Kevin asked her before taking a sniff of the carcass, it was a fine kill. He was used of letting the leader eat first or the wolf that brung the thing down.

Cinder looked at Kevin. "Thank you, Kevin. You did good also." She looked at the carcass and then back at the multicolored male. "Yes, we should tell him. Let's take the carcass back to the camp so in that way it's easier to get to it. If we can't do that, we could just tell our pack mates where the carcass is so that they can get to it." The black female wolf waited for the fighter to respond.

Kevin nodded before issuing a "Your welcome, and thanks." His response was quiet and soft before he glanced from the elk back to the female. He dipped his head in agreement, "Alright." He simply stated before walking toward the head of the elk and taking hold. He waited for her to help him with the head, it would be easier that way anyway.

The she wolf said, "You're welcome." Cinder trotted towards the elk's head. She was on the opposite side of Kevin. "As soon as I pick it up, we should drag it towards the camp." She picked the head up with her powerful jaws and begins dragging the elk.

Kevin flicked his tail, he already knew the plan. Once she got hold of the elk he began to help drag the elk toward the camp, while trying to ignore the delicious smell and taste of the elk. He focused on the path that the elk had made as they dragged it, he would come back here and perhaps hide the trail.
